FAQ - Corsham Cake Company

Question 1

How many portions does a round cake serve?

Accepted Answer

As a general guide: a 6" round serves 12-16 portions, an 8" round serves 24-30 portions, a 10" round serves 38-45 portions, and a 12" round serves 55-65 portions. Portion sizes can vary depending on whether the cake is served as a dessert or as a smaller celebration slice.

Question 2

How many portions does a square cake serve?

Accepted Answer

Square cakes yield slightly more portions than round cakes of the same size: a 6" square serves around 18 portions, an 8" square serves around 32 portions, a 10" square serves around 50 portions, and a 12" square serves around 72 portions.

Question 3

How do I work out how many tiers I need?

Accepted Answer

For a tiered cake, we combine different sizes to reach your required portion count. For example, a two-tier 6" & 8" cake serves approximately 40 portions. We are happy to advise on the best combination for your guest numbers - just mention it in your enquiry.

Question 4

Do you offer tasting boxes?

Accepted Answer

Yes! We offer tasting boxes so you can try a selection of our flavours before committing to your order. Please get in touch via the enquiry form to arrange one.

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. We can make cakes from 4" upwards. A 4" smash cake is perfect for first birthday photos and serves 4-6 people.

Question 6

How do I place an order?

Question 7

How far in advance should I order?
